Volunteer Village in Greensburg, Kan. - May 2008
An EF-5 tornado blew threw Western Kansas in May 2007, destroying the town of Greensburg.

Just over a year later, a group of Wichita State communication students spent two weeks in the ravaged town, covering untold stories of residents and the rebirth of their community.

Volunteers have flooded Greensburg since the tornado. Each passes through the make-shift colony of Volunteer Village.
